I'm still yo-yoing between 235 and 237. Just call me Duncan. At least I'm not getting any heavier than that, so hopefully things will pull forward again soon. It's getting better weather here now, so hopefully more walking is in the near future. I seem to do better when I have some kind of routine, and the routine has been suffering as of late, so maybe that's partly to blame for my lack of attention to exercise and eating healthier. Thanks again for all those who are supporting me.
Speaking of supporting someone, I just got a visit from my buddy Greg, from http://www.fatguyblog.com. He's still hanging in there, he just hasn't had much time to blog lately. His heel spurs are still acting up, though, so exercise for him has been much lessened. I tried to give him some encouragement. I enjoyed his visit, even though I wish I wouldn't have been at work and spent more time with him. Greg is one of those guys whho, even though I haven't known him that long, I feel I can talk to him about nearly anything. He's a lot of fun to talk to, and I'm grateful that his blog led me to contact him and make a new friend. We have a lot of similar interests and I always am enlightened in some ways when he has time to visit. I know a lot of you that read my blog also read his, so I thought I would let you know he is doing okay.

I enjoy Gregs blog too.. I think what each of us has to realize that what we are doing is not short term.. Making life changes takes time.. pretty soon those changes develop into habits.. and it gets easier.. IT will be a constant in my life I know that.. sometimes thats a hard reality knowing this really will not end.. Once I reach my goal weight.. I have to keep on fighting always.. which I guess is good. Anyhow.. that was a great post.. loved the Duncan yo yo remark.. Be well!!
Thanks! Yo-yos have sort of fallen out of the public eye in recent years thanks to all the electronic games, so I was hoping my Duncan yo-yo reference wasn't out of date! Yeah, it seems a little frightening thinking that this will be a never-ending battle, but a lot of people with health problems are on life-long drug prescriptions, and I'd rather struggle with weight loss than deal with life-debilitating health problems brought on by being overweight. Thanks for your input!
Hang in there - I am the Queen of yoyo'ing (not the toy, just in weight) -- it's a rough spot to be in but you can beat it! Just stick to your healthy plan. Mix things up a bit -- add a little interval training strategy to what ever activity you do, rotate your calorie intake add 100 one day, go down 200 another, add 150 next, etc. Let your body know you are NOT experiencig a famine and reassure it you will NOT starve. Heath - I was similar in porportion to that listed in your profile, 5 11 and 246. Although my own weight loss journey began with a life threatning illness (that even the exclusive Mayo Clinic couldnt diagnose), I began a quest for better health. Now, working out and nutrituion was part of that (and routine for sure). When I began to drop tohe pounds, I actually had a goal of around 185 . . . today, 11-months later, I am 166. I never would have pictured myself at this weight. Routine is a big part of my success, as well as my self-justification that I want to be healthy. In addition to losing the weight, my cholesterol dropped from guiness book levels to perfect range, weight has dropped and the illness, well that has magically vanished:) Keep pushing forward. I started my blog a few weeks back to share my story (I was actually sick of re-telling it everyday) and provide support and encouragement for others on a path to better health. Feel free to stop by sometime.

Creating a sustainable new life style is key. If that life style chops a pound a year the trend is still in the right direction. When you stop you should not start gaining. That's my aim anyway.
